Reagents

  • Agarose
  • Salts for stock sol'ns (have some - see inventory)
  • Ethidium Bromide
  • SYBR-Safe (or other SYBR dyes)
  • RNAse/DNAse-free H2O
  • Bacto-tryptone
  • Yeast extract
  • Nucleotides or nucleotide mixtures
  • Silica (miniprep) columns/ kits
  • Non-denatured ethanol and isopropanol
  • EDTA
  • Tris
  • Triton-X100 (or other detergents)

Enzymes

  • Taq (or other thermostable polymerases)
  • Restriction enzymes
    • The ones we need the most: EcoRI, HindIII, BamHI, NotI, XbaI, SpeI, PstI
  • Ligase - any kind will do
  • Phosphatase
  • Reverse transcriptase

Furniture

  • Work bench, preferably with storage underneath
